Last night i had a gig with an old friend. I was at my moms house on Easter afternoon and had just finished lunch when the phone rang. It was Kelly McGuire on the other end and he was needing another sideman for a show at Sams Boat in the Kemah area. He wanted me to play a gig but the gig was going to start in 2.5 hours. I told him i would  talk to Jenn and give him a call back. So i talked to Jenn and weighed our Options. Either Go home, take a nap and be lazy the rest of the day, which was really sounding good, or go play a show with Kelly. Pseudo reluctantly i called Kelly back and said i would do the gig. haha I'm a Sucker. ugh....

At any rate i got to the gig and it started out as usual... Kelly was setting his stuff up really slowly heh heh.... and i got my junk all set up and Sandy set up Kelly-Mart. Well to the point...

When the show started it was literally like as Bobby Summers likes to say, "Putting on an old pair of comfortable tennis shoes." Everything fell into the pocket. Kelly and i were feeding off of each other the whole gig. I was playing stuff i would have never had thought to play before in my life. It was really good to just feel free and non-restricted in your musical creativity. I truly wish that every gig could be like that. Oh yeah - We played Original music the whole night except for one song. That was Awesome. There is only so much Brown eyed Girl and Margaritaville you can take after a while LOL. Now i am about to head to bead after this totally refreshing experience.  How am I feeling? - Inspired. Goodnight all!
